We inspire kids to care for farms, the earth, good eating and good times.

We welcome children ages 5-16 to join us on our family-run organic farm.  Campers will experience the connections between growing and eating healthy foods and taking care of our bodies and our land.

After a morning welcome circle, we begin each day with animal chores, feeding and watering our lambs, pigs, and chickens.  Over the course of the week we’ll partake in the full process of raising vegetables, herbs, and flowers from soil preparation, direct seeding and transplanting, to watering, weeding, harvesting, washing, and of course eating!  Kids will get dirty in our vegetable fields exploring how a seed turns into a head of lettuce and how many ladybugs live amongst the plants and weeds.  We will taste food as fresh as can be.  Each day will include rest and relaxing with stories after lunch, and we’ll mix up the afternoons with various games, cooking with fresh produce, nature-inspired art, and creative explorations!

 New for 2014!

We are excited to offer a junior apprenticeship for 10-12 year olds.   For just one week this summer, kids can join our farm crew in the afternoon from 2:00-4:30 Monday-Friday.  This program is created for those who are excited to get their hands dirty, use their body as well as their mind to learn about food production.  Over the course of the week, kids will transplant seedlings, harvest produce, wash & prep produce, weed, partake in animal care, and jump into other projects that come up for the farm crew.  They will work alongside veteran farmer Seth and our dynamic & bright full- time farm apprentices.  This is a unique opportunity to acquire real understanding of agriculture , develop work skills, and build self-confidence.  We are excited to teach kids who want to learn and the group will be small.   Therefore we ask that only kids who express an enthusiastic interest enroll (as opposed to parents who want or hope their kids to be enthusiastic about the program.)   Of course we’re happy to discuss in further detail – be in touch by phone or email.
